Adam Tolliver from Examiner.com and Plant the Spear
OK, I get it ACC fans. I spent a lot of time talking about Florida State this week on the podcast. I admit I did not get a chance to really touch on some other worthy programs this week. I apologize to my Virginia Tech, Clemson and Miami readers out there. It just happens to be that I have a bunch of interest in Florida State this season and judging by my traffic stats, the Florida State fans are checking out what I’m posting and thinking.
I have said a number of times this week that Florida State is the team to beat and there are plenty of reasons why. And I’m not alone. Coley Harvey and Michael Felder both seem to agree with me. So on this final podcast of ACC Week I just cut straight to the chase with Adam Tolliver, who covers the Seminoles on Examiner.com as well as Plant the Spear, when I asked him right off the bat if Florida State was the team to beat in the ACC.
As expected, Tolliver agreed, although he points out that North Carolina State and Clemson should not be overlooked by anyone. I’ll agree with that. The Tigers are doing some good things in Death Valley (and they have one of the reasons we love college football) and Dabo Swinney is one of the top coaches in the ACC. Getting Florida State at home the week after playing host to defending BCS champion Auburn clearly plays in favor of Clemson, and that game will be a great ACC opener for both teams. The ACC’s Atlantic Division could be decided right there.
But looking at the entire season, I like the chances of the Seminoles better than Clemson.
Hear what else Tolliver had to say to me about the Seminoles and the rest of the ACC. It sure looks as though we are heading to a rematch in the ACC Championship game this season.
