Still sick seeing those Illinois game highlights
Honestly, that game was just an exhibition of bad football. I mean, really bad.
Anyway, Thursday football was fun, was it not? I was there to see Temple’s Bernard Pierce run over and around a rebuilding Villanova program. This guy is just flat out good, and I hope he stays healthy this season so that he can start that Heisman campaign back up. Meanwhile, the All Russell Wilson Everything show got underway in Wisconsin to high marks and Mississippi State showed just how
bad Memphis is good the Bulldogs will be this season in a rout in the Liberty Bowl.
In score of other games…
Wake Forest had an great night from sophomore quarterback Tanner Price, but an injury to the leg took him out early. Syracuse won in overtime after digging a big hole in the first half. Love the Orange and the direction they are heading, but needing to rally at home against Wake Forest? C’mon guys. If you’re going to make a run in the Big East, you have to play better than that at home. But hey, you won so congrats!
Bowling Green avenged that Humanitarian Bowl loss to Idaho a couple years ago by taking down the Vandals inside their own dome, 32-15. Toledo blasted #10 (FCS) New Hampshire 58-22. I honestly saw this game being much closer but I guess Toledo’s offense was just too much for one of the better FCS programs this time. I know Toledo is one of the favorites in the MAC, but I thought the New Englanders could hang with them longer. Enjoy this now MAC. With Central Michigan winning last night as well your conference is 4-0 this season and leading the nation in total victories. That will change over the next 48 hours with games against Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Pittsburgh on the schedule this weekend, and Indiana might be handing an “L” to Ball State too.
