This day in college football history: Arizona kicks way to victory against Washington State

On this day in 1993

No. 7 Arizona and College Football Hall of Fame inductee Rob Waldrop outlasted No. 25 Washington State 9-6 in Tucson, Arizona. Arizona kicker Steve McLaughlin booted three field goals, the third clinching the game with 1:33 to play. The Wildcats, who improved to 7-0 for the first time in school history, finished the season 10-2 with a No. 10 ranking after defeating Miami in the Fiesta Bowl, the first 10-win season in school history.
