Mississippi State clones Alabama uniforms, calls them their own

Mississippi State’s new uniforms mimic Crimson Tide

Some say the best form of flattery comes with imitation. If that is the case, Mississippi State may have chosen a good program to imitate when it comes to their new uniforms.

The Bulldogs revealed their new home and road uniforms Thursday and my first impression was that they looked strikingly similar to uniforms already worn by Alabama, or even Arkansas. The new uniforms, designed and provided by Adidas, feature white pants and a marron jersey complete with a Mississippi State name across the front of the jersey and white number. The helmet comes in the same home jersey color, with a white stripe down the middle and Mississippi State logo on the sides.

The road jerseys flip the color scheme between jerseys and pants, and keep the same helmet. Take a look below…

Overall I like the new, updated look, even if it does look a little too similar to SEC West powerhouse Alabama. At quick glance some fans may confuse the two programs on television, but there will still be no question which team is which when Alabama hosts Mississippi State on October 27 this fall.

What do you think of the new Mississippi State uniforms? Thumbs up or thumbs down?
