Just how were those Missouri helmets put together?

September 12, 2012 Video 5 Comments

15 minutes per helmet? That’s time-consuming!

Missouri showed off those new, much-anticipated football helmets in their SEC opener last weekend at home against Georgia, for their SEC debut. While the Tigers may have lost the game there is no denying they looked stylish in defeat, at least when it comes to the helmet.

This video produced by Missouri’s video team shows the actual process of putting the final pieces of the design on the matte black helmet and discussing how it will be used as a recruiting tool moving forward.

I found it interesting that the tiger design was supposed to be painted on the helmet but a decal was used instead for the sake of cost and time, even though it is still a massive time consumer to meticulously secure the decal to the sides of the helmet.

I’m sold on the helmets, but am still reluctant to embrace the yellow jerseys.
