Wisconsin building a new scoreboard

One of the benefits of Big Ten expansion and on-field success for Wisconsin is having additional funds available to work on some stadium renovations. The two-time Big Ten Leaders Division champions are looking to make it three straight trips to Pasadena to represent the conference in the Rose Bowl (maybe the third time is the charm?), but today we got a glimpse in to a nice little stadium upgrade already underway at Camp Randall Stadium.

The 80,000+ stadium is not adding more seats (yet) but Wisconsin is making the visuals a bit more appetizing for fans in the stands on game day with a brand new scoreboard. Wisconsin had added new scoreboards about a decade ago but now the main scoreboard is getting a nice little face lift.

Given the scoreboard trend around the sports world, we can only imagine we’re talking about a full HD scoreboard  that will do away with the old-fashioned computerized scoreboards. If Wisconsin is adding an HD screen the size of the previous scoreboard, we’ll be talking about some very nice visuals to jump around to.

As for future expansion, while there is no hint of anything on the draft table, I see some empty space between old scoreboard and the upper deck. There’s always room to pack in a few more fans, right?
