Oregon still team to beat, but is USC moving up?
We are still in the midst of SEC Media
Day Days Week, but now is as good a time as any to start looking a little ahead and catching up with the Pac-12. The Pac-12 media days are still a couple of weeks away at this point, overlapping with Big Ten media days this year, but the conference is full of reasons to be paying attention to what is happening.
Oregon looks to replace Heisman Trophy quarterback Marcus Mariota, potentially with one of the top players from the FCS ranks the past two years. Stanford figures to once again be a strong opponent for the Ducks, and Chris Petersen goes into Year 2 at Washington. Down in the Pac-12 South, USC appears to be gaining some trendy status, while UCLA, Arizona and Arizona State all have reasons to be excited. And don’t forget about Utah. Hey, Colorado may even improve this season too!
When it comes to talking about the Pac-12, I like to dial up Kyle Kensing of CFB Huddle. Kensing and I are now allies as contributors on Athlon Sports this season, and he is pumping out some great content on both sites. Take a listen as Kensing outlines some of the things he is keeping tabs on with regard to the Pac-12, and he even squeezes in some thoughts about the Mountain West Conference and Boise State. While you are listening, be sure to give Kyle a follow on Twitter (@kensing45), and if you are interested in checking out some freelance opportunities, stop by TodaysU.com (mentioned by Kensing in the podcast).
[Programming Note: Big Ten fans are encouraged and invited to check out today’s episode of the Nittany Lions Den Podcast as I previewed Big Ten media days with Andy Coppens of Talking 10 and Madtown Badgers.]
