Joining the podcast today is Stewart Mandel, the editor in chief of The Athletic‘s new college football website, The All-American. Mandel explains how he arrived at the brand new outlet and outlines some of the details regarding the staff and plans for coverage during the new college football season.
After that, we get into the College Football Playoff. Mandel authored The Thinking Fan’s Guide to the College Football Playoff prior to the first season using the new championship model. Now, after three years of observing the playoff, it was time to ask Mandel if he would write the book any differently today. Last week, I wrote a story for The Comeback about the lessons I have learned from watching the playoff, so I was intrigued to hear Mandel’s perspective on the subject.
