Did I really just pick Nebraska to go 11-1?

Today my friends over at Athlon Sports continued to go through a team’s schedule, game by game and pick wins and losses. Today they touched on Nebraska, the defending Big Ten Legends Division champions and a team once again expected to compete for a return trip to Indianapolis for a shot at the Big Ten championship. I was fortunate to be asked to contribute with this one, giving me a chance to go through my first schedule for 2013 and pick wins and losses. I was somewhat stunned by my first run through the season, using my gut reaction for each game without paying much attention to where the Huskers stood after each game.

11-1. 11-1? Oh my. I picked Nebraska to go 11-1.

what

I am optimistic about the Huskers this season, but I do think 11-1 is a best-case scenario. Honestly, I’m not really sure I trust Nebraska enough to get to that mark but I feel this is a reasonable prediction if I just think about it all logically. I was surprised to see everyone who took part in this guessing game picked Nebraska to lose at Michigan but as you can see by the panel, there are a couple games to pay close attention to, against Northwestern and Penn State.

As I said to Athlon Sports, I certainly do not feel comfortable about picking Nebraska to go 11-1, but I’m officially on the record.

By the way, I did pick Nebraska to reach the Big Ten championship game in our Big Ten predictions at Crystal Ball Run, but I have Ohio State as the team to beat in the conference at the end of the year.

Check out how my picks compared to members of the Athlon Sports team as well as Big Ten Network blogger Brent Yarina. How many wins are you predicting for Nebraska in 2013?
