No 2-Minute Warning named Top 100 Sports Blog to Follow in 2013

Today is a special day in the No 2-Minute Warning home office. I am pleased to share with you that No 2-Minute Warning has been named one of the Top 100 Sports Blogs to Follow in 2013 and is included in a new infographic from the folks at Coupon Audit, which can be seen below.

Before you take a look at the graphic I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to those who have been supporting the site and podcast. Whether you have been a frequent visitor since the site launched or if you are just now discovering the site, I say welcome and thanks for stopping by.

There are some good plans for the site for 2013, I can promise you that. The podcast is on a break for now but it should be returning soon. With writing a book and contributing more to Crystal Ball Run, things may be a little slow at times around here but I promise to keep delivering fresh content when time permits, and you will not have to be waiting too long for new content.

Nevada introducing silver and white helmets as alternates

The white alternate helmet seems to be continuing (and more are on the way). A day after catching a glimpse of Texas Tech’s supposed white helmet for the 2013 season, we now catch wind that Nevada could be the next in line for a white helmet. And, it seems, a silver helmet.

Cameron Hartsfield, a defensive back commitment for Nevada’s Class of 2013 out of Texas, shared a photo (via Twitter) of three Nevada helmets on a recent recruiting visit. In it we see Nevada’s standard blue helmet with logo. We also see what appears to be a silver helmet with the logo and a white version sits on top of the other two.

Is Nevada introducing a white and silver helmet in addition to their standard blue helmet? It looks like it.

First look at Texas Tech’s white football helmet

As we get closer and closer to National Signing Day (February 6) we are getting more and more looks at supposed new helmets for the 2013 college football season. We recently got a glimpse of Western Michigan’s new Boise State inspired helmets. Now it looks as though Texas Tech, known for their black and red look over the years, will adopt white as an alternate color.

A recent photo, which appears to have leaked from a recruiting trip and was shared by the Reddit community, shows a pair of texas Tech helmets. The black helmet gets a minor update with a red stripe. But of course the eye-catcher here is the white helmet, featuring a similar red stripe down the middle of the helmet with the standard Texas Tech logo on the side.

Texas Tech showed off some new helmets, including a white version.
